Going home again: Summer spaing at Grand Hyatt Seoul The Spa

Opening in spa years what seems like an eternity ago (2007), the Grand Hyatt Seoul’s spa has been pioneering treatments and quality service for many moons.  It was a pleasure to go back as always and be pampered by their excellent hands and touch.

Situated across from the famous Grand Hyatt pool entrance and the Club Olympus sauna, athletic facilities and just a hop, skip and jump from the speedy elevator.  The black monolithic lobby is a luxe, relaxing affair – an awe inspiring destination in itself.

SERVICE

Service is slick, polished and discreet, as befits a five-star spa in a Grand Hyatt and in the capital of Korea.   The hotel, positioning itself as an urban retreat for Koreans, Seoulites and their families.  Issues have been far and between (ever) and this is a great thing to Miss Spaist.

SPAING

No shortage of choices here. For a luxurious, occasional indulgent pampering, try their Gold Caviar 90 minute facial, the Hungarian-inspired facial + facial massage techniques lifts and plumps the facial muscles while two separate masks reduce wrinkles and nourish the skin.  The gold mask at the end epitomizes luxury.   Or go for a Korean-inspired Ginseng body treatment, where their expert therapists kneed and massage you using traditional Korean massage techniques and a 6 year old ginseng body oil.  For some Parisian spa fare, take the Anne Semonin cryo-therapy ice cube facial.  Semonin’s skin care is nature-luxe in its approach, based on marine ingredients and trace elements that are blended into ice cubes for all skin types.  Icy refreshment in Korean summer’s skin beating fury.

VERDICT

Seoul’s most refined and best trained therapists deliver with an emphasis on relaxation and a retreat from your busy life.
