Luxury spaing in Hong Kong

My greatest luxury spaist tip for Hong Kong would be to go to the super aspirational luxe hotels for all your spa needs.   – Mandarin Oriental,  the original and not Landmark – Ritz Carlton – Four Seasons (just don’t stay in their rooms) – Peninsula Two out of three normal chain luxury hotels in Pacific Place, Hong Kong didn’t have proper spas.  They seem to be fitness facilities that give a little space over for body treatments. Conrad Hong Kong’s setup was laughable and I did a real life LOL at the absurdity of three guys standing around and telling me this was the spa and I was in the waiting area.  😭😭 Sorry! Marriott isn’t doing much better in Hong Kong.   Not very spaist inspiring.

Tokyo 2015 Fall spaing Part II (better than Part 1!)

While my other half does the work thing with the 2015 Tokyo International Boring…err Motor show.  I’ll be taking this spa show on the road of some of Tokyo and Kanagawa’s best spas 🙂 1. IZUMI spa at Hyatt Regency Hakone 2. AO Spa at Andaz Tokyo 3. Ritz Carlton Tokyo spa Wanted to but won’t. they charge non-guests ¥11,000 to use the spa. Who does that? I just don’t like when hotels do that because spaists are typically of a certain income bracket and going to shell out for a day of pampering.  A surcharge penalty for not being a hotel guest is wrong. Oh, and, Ritz Carlton corporate needs to update http://www.ritzcarlton.com spa menu for Tokyo.  I read, heard, saw (here: Ritz Carlton Tokyo changes to Sodashi (Japanese) and here: Ritz Carlton Tokyo Press release! From the Lion’s mouth itself) through the luxury spa grapevine that they use Sodashi products now: Ritz Carlton Tokyo’s (old) spa menu  ===> FAIL that this is still up and nothing has been updated. (Available in Japanese though!?) 3.1 The Spa @ …

MOre spaing: next up MO Shanghai’s 2,415sqm Spa!

World’s 13 most luxurious spas Hmm, well the article should be relabeled Mandarin Oriental’s most luxurious spa treatments but I am honored to have had many of them :). Next up: MO Shanghai’s MO Spa Dragon and the Phoenix – 2 hour couples romantic bath and couples massage body treatment for moi and Mr. Spaist. MOre details here: “Dragon Phoenix adapts traditional Chinese healing wisdom to the changing season. Represented by red and gold, the mythical creatures, Dragon and Phoenix are often used to characterise the Emperor and Empress, and they symbolise the power of cosmic energy and marital harmony blessed with good luck and prosperity. The Spa’s Dragon Phoenix treatment begins with a welcoming foot ritual and relaxing bath filled with aromatic gold osmanthus and red hawthorn. This is followed by a guasha-inspired couple’s massage using a custom-designed tool made from carnelian gemstone, which is applied to specific energy points to achieve balance and enhance the body’s ability to heal itself.  Guasha is a traditional Chinese therapy of skin scraping that relieves pain and …

Going home again: Summer spaing at Grand Hyatt Seoul The Spa

Opening in spa years what seems like an eternity ago (2007), the Grand Hyatt Seoul’s spa has been pioneering treatments and quality service for many moons.  It was a pleasure to go back as always and be pampered by their excellent hands and touch. Situated across from the famous Grand Hyatt pool entrance and the Club Olympus sauna, athletic facilities and just a hop, skip and jump from the speedy elevator.  The black monolithic lobby is a luxe, relaxing affair – an awe inspiring destination in itself. SERVICE Service is slick, polished and discreet, as befits a five-star spa in a Grand Hyatt and in the capital of Korea.   The hotel, positioning itself as an urban retreat for Koreans, Seoulites and their families.  Issues have been far and between (ever) and this is a great thing to Miss Spaist. SPAING No shortage of choices here. For a luxurious, occasional indulgent pampering, try their Gold Caviar 90 minute facial, the Hungarian-inspired facial + facial massage techniques lifts and plumps the facial muscles while two separate masks reduce wrinkles and nourish …
